Launched in the academic year 2013-14, the “Biju Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana” is a scheme by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha. Under this scheme, an amount of ₹30,000 per student is directly transferred to the bank accounts of 15,000 meritorious higher secondary (equivalent to 12th grade) students through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for the purchase of laptops. The allocation earmarked for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students in a particular stream is divided between SC and ST according to the ratio of 16.25:22.5, which is also the reservation ratio in employment in the state. The scheme is applicable to students from the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) Board and Upshastri Students passing from Shree Jagannath Sanskrit University, Puri.

Benefits of the Scheme

Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be a resident or domicile of the state of Odisha.
- The applicant should have passed the higher secondary education (equivalent to 12th grade) examination from the Council of Higher Secondary Education in Odisha.
- Students who have cleared the Upshastri examination from Shree Jagannath Sanskrit University in Puri are also eligible to apply.

Step 2 : Navigate to the “Schemes And Scholarship” section. Optionally, verify your eligibility for the scheme by clicking “View Eligibility”. Alternatively, proceed by clicking “Online Application Module For Scholarship And Loan”.
Step 3 : From the dropdown menu, choose “Biju Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana”. Complete all the mandatory fields and upload the required documents in the specified file format and size limit.
