Who can Apply ?

There are some eligibility conditions to apply under this Bihar Sponsorship Scheme, which are mandatory to fulfill :

1. For children, their age should be between 0 to 18 years.
2. Information about the family’s annual income is given below.
3. The applicant must have a permanent residence certificate.
4. The applicant should be in the Below Poverty Line (BPL) list.
5. Children whose father has died, mother is divorced, or who are separated from their family.
6. The benefits of this scheme will also be given to disabled, missing, or runaway children.
7. Children whose parents or one of them is suffering from a serious life-threatening illness.
8. This scheme is for all children who are homeless, destitute, or whose families have been displaced.
9. Children who are in conflict with the law.
10. All children who have been rescued from child trafficking, child begging, child marriage, or child labor.
11. If a child’s parents or one of them is in prison, they can also apply for this scheme.
12. Children affected by HIV or AIDS will also be eligible for this scheme.
13. Children whose parents are unable to care for them due to economic, physical, or mental reasons can also benefit from the sponsorship scheme.
14. Children living on footpaths or who are exploited or oppressed.

Sponsorship Yojana 2024 Income Criteria

The income limit information of the guardian is as follows :

• In rural areas maximum Rs. 72,000/- annually
• In urban areas maximum Rs. 96,000/- annually

(Note: The rule of maximum family income limit will not apply to children whose parents or legal guardian have died.)

Benefits available under sponsorship scheme

Children will also be given assistance of ₹ 4,000/- every month. Its objective is to improve the education, health and nutrition of children. This amount will be deposited directly into the accounts of the parents or guardians of the children, so that they can use it properly.
