A driving license, often referred to as a driver’s license, is a crucial document that permits an individual to operate a motor vehicle legally. It serves as both an identification and authorization to drive, granted after the successful completion of a series of tests and training, which vary by country and jurisdiction.
A driving license typically includes essential information about the holder, such as their name, date of birth, photograph, and a unique identification number. It also indicates the types of vehicles the holder is allowed to operate, any restrictions or endorsements, and the validity period. Obtaining a driver’s license signifies that the holder has demonstrated the necessary skills and knowledge to ensure road safety and adhere to traffic regulations.
